The Rauma Blues music festival returns to Rauma from August 15th to 17th. Blues clubs will be hosted in various restaurants and cafes on Thursday, August 15th, and Friday, August 16th. On Saturday, August 17th, the tent arena in Parpansali will feature top international and domestic artists and bands.
– The event preparations are on track, and we are currently making some last-minute checks. Ticket sales are brisk, and the artists are eagerly anticipating the upcoming blues weekend, says board chairman Tunnu Pärssinen.
On Thursday, you can enjoy blues clubs at Poroholma Beach House and Bar Hehku. Kalla will perform at Beach House, while Lazymen Blues Band will be at Bar Hehku.
Friday evening starts at Café Sali, continues at Restaurant Buena Vista, and concludes at Culture Pub Brummi. The blues clubs will feature Hamid Moeini Band, Doctors’ Special, and Little Willie Mehto. Tina Bednoff & The TB’s, who are visiting the festival for the first time, will also perform.
The main concert on Saturday will feature American guitarists Chris Cain and Bernard Allison, Sister Cookie from the UK, and Muddy What? from Germany. Alongside these international top musicians, the event will also showcase Finnish blues talent, with Million Dollar Tones kicking off the main concert.
You can also enjoy the Roamin’ Street Band’s blues parade on Saturday at the terraces of Bar Old Town and Restaurant Buena Vista. The ensemble includes clarinet, trombone, saxophone, and tuba, along with banjo and washboard, not to mention guitar, double bass, and bass and snare drums.
– Newcomers and seasoned visitors alike are welcome to the event. The old saying goes that you don’t need to know anything about the artists beforehand, but you can be sure of great evenings and a relaxed atmosphere, Pärssinen adds.
