The Lace Town’s Christmas lights enchant Old Rauma from November 23 to January 6
News
The Christmas season in the Lace Town begins with the Christmas opening event on Saturday, November 23, when the enchanting Christmas lights of Old Rauma will be lit at 4:00 PM. The lights will remain on around the clock until January 6. Additionally, the light art installation in Kitukränn will be on display until January 18.
Fourteen trees in Savilanpuisto Park will be illuminated with warm-toned light strips, and the park area will feature three-meter-tall illuminated angel wings.
The lighting will also adorn the Christmas Market and the courtyard of Tammela’s Elf Land. Furthermore, the festive Christmas tree alley leading from the market square to Tammela’s Elf Land will be covered with a canopy of lights stretching almost the entire length of Vähäraastuvankatu. This year, Kirsti’s House will also have a Christmas yard featuring atmospheric lighting.
Kitukränn will be decorated with a new light art installation created by artist Mollu Heino. Representing a shooting star, the piece is part of the Lumen light art event taking place in January.
– The lighting of the Christmas lights is a much-anticipated and traditional sign of the start of the festive season. We hope the lights bring plenty of joy to both residents and visitors. The Christmas lights and the stunning surroundings of Old Rauma also create a perfect setting for photography, says Krista Mård, coordinator of the Christmas in Lace Town.
