The film ‘Jossain on valo joka ei sammu’ will be filmed in Rauma in September – the filming will cause temporary street closures

In September, the film Jossain on valo ei sammu (Somewhere there is a light that never goes out) will be shot in Rauma. The filming will cause street closures in various parts of Rauma from September 17–25. During filming, traffic will be halted for 1–3 minutes at a time. Street parking will be restricted in filming locations starting the previous day.
Filming schedule:
- September 17, 12:00–14:30, Isopoikkikatu. Traffic control between Kuninkaankatu and Luostarinkatu. Parking restrictions Pohjankatu and Luostarinkatu.
- September 17, 14:00–15:30, Valtakatu. Traffic control between Luoteisväylä and Tehtaankatu.
- September 17, 21:30–23:00, Urheilukatu. Traffic control between Osmonkatu and Raumanmerenkatu.
- September 18, 22:30–00:00, Syväraumankatu. Traffic control between Männistönkatu and Hakunintie.
- September 19, 10:30–11:30, Kuninkaankatu. Traffic control between Isokirkkokatu and Koulukatu, and Koulukatu. Parking restrictions between Koulukatu and Pappilankatu.
- September 19, 11:30–13:00, Vanhankirkonkatu. Traffic control between Isopoikkikatu and Kalatori. Parking restrictions on Vanhankirkonkatu, Kalatori, and Turunkatu.
- September 23, 14:00–15:30 and 21:00–23:30, Kuninkaankatu. Traffic control between Tullivahe and Itäkatu, and on Itäkatu between Kauppakatu and Kuninkaankatu. Parking restrictions on Kuninkaankatu between Tullivahe and Itäkatu.
- September 24, 17:00–24:00, Eteläpitkäkatu. Traffic control between Anudilankatu and Pappilankatu. Parking restrictions on the same section.
- September 25, 00:30–02:30, Vanhankirkonkatu. Traffic control between Pappilankatu and Vähäraastuvankatu. Parking restrictions on the same section and on Isoraastuvankatu.
The film is a love letter to Rauma
Directed by Lauri-Matti Parppei, a Rauma-born director-screenwriter-composer, the movie is an emotional, unapologetic, and intense debut about young adults on the edge of creativity and collapse. The cast includes Samuel Kujala, Rauma native Anna Rosaliina Kauno, Kaisa-Leena Koskenkorva, Camille Auer, Mari Rantasila, and Jarkko Pajunen.
The film is produced by the production company Made, with Norwegian co-producer Goodtime Pictures. It has received funding from the Finnish Film Foundation, Yle, the City of Rauma, the Erkki Paasikivi Foundation, and the Norwegian Mediefondet Zefyr fund. The movie will premiere in theaters in the fall of 2025, distributed by B-Plan Distribution. The City of Rauma is contributing €20,000 to the production.
