Thread

All the coursework on this site is made with Bockens 60/2 linen thread. The correct thread gauge is important, as all the coursework patterns on this site are designed to fit this thread. If the thread or mynsteri size is different from the one given, the lace will be sparse and loose or too tight. The most commonly used colour is unbleached linen.

Fabric

If the lace is to be attached to fabric, a smooth woven linen fabric in the same colour as the thread is usually chosen. It is advisable to look for the fabric in specialist shops selling lace-making supplies.

‘Äärest Viäre’ project
