History

According to the annex to the 1756 map, the owner of the Suka plot was Tibiander. In 1800, plots 177 and 178 belonged to the patron Erik Frandén and the barrel maker Joh. Sandström, both of whom were poor.

Modification drafts

There is an alteration drawing from 1893 involving two of the outbuildings on the property. There was a residential building along the street and three outbuildings in the courtyard. At the end of the outbuilding on the southern boundary of the plot, a small shed with a pent roof was to be built. There was also a modest board shed on the northern boundary. In 1905, a small detached sauna building on the northern boundary of the yard was to be converted into a one-room dwelling. The drawing was made by Leonard Ahti.

The 1907 drawing of the house was made by Arvi Leikari. On the street side of the house was an apartment with two large rooms, one small room and a kitchen. There was also a small separate room on the street side with its own entrance and hallway. In the courtyard wing there was a baker’s shop. There was a porch in the corner. The building was raised with an attic section and given a neo-renaissance façade and gate. There were also three outbuildings on the site.

In 1927, a door to a commercial building was planned for the street-side of the house then owned by widow Olga Keskinen. From the rooms on the street side, an entrance would be located at the north side window. No shop windows were to be opened.

In the 1970s and 1980s, the buildings on the site were poorly maintained. The fires followed one after the other. In 1989, the restoration of the main building began under new ownership. A three-room apartment with a kitchen and a sauna were added. An old-style gate was built on the roof. In 1992, new outbuildings were planned on the site, one of which was to house a sauna and a room with a fireplace, the other a storage room. The plans were drawn up by Markus Bernoulli.
