The demolished block of the market

Modification drafts

Ensimmäisenä purettiin torialueelta Sonnilan tontin rakennukset vuonna 1893.

The first buildings to be demolished in the market area were those on the Sonnila plot in 1893.

Immediately after the demolition, a row of cold warehouses was planned on the northern side of the site, with their doors opening onto the square. The plan was drawn up by August Helenius. In 1912, when the buildings on the adjacent plot had also been demolished, plans were made to extend the row of market halls.
