Pungi
History
The house, called Bung, belonged to Niilo Sorrén in 1756. In 1800, Bung was owned by the bourgeois Abraham Limnell.
Modification drafts
There is a modification drawing of the plot’s buildings by Arvi Tuomokoski from 1906. There is a residential building on the plot, which consisted of two parts of different widths. Both contained a room and a kitchen apartment. The kitchen in one apartment had a baking oven, the other a smaller kitchen stove. The porch was extended to provide separate entrances to both apartments. The outbuilding on the site was replaced by a new, slightly smaller, pent roof. A toilet and three sheds were added. The dwelling building was given horizontal boarding, six-paned windows and a modest neo-renaissance style framing. A tall tripartite gateway was added to Pappilankatu.
A new plan by Arvi Leikari dates from 1909. An extension was made to the courtyard side, adding two small kitchens and two entrances. The outbuilding was extended by one room at the west end and two new rooms were built between the living quarters and the outbuilding, connected to the outbuilding. The porch and the separate outhouse in the courtyard were demolished. In the residential building, the baking oven was relocated to a new kitchen. In addition, the former antechamber was converted into a kitchen when some extra space was created by repositioning the walls.
In 1978, the apartment was renovated. The premises were combined into an 81 m2 apartment with four rooms and a kitchen. An old-style gate was also added to the house. In 1981, a sauna and dressing room were built in the courtyard wing, as well as a storage room and carport. One part of the warehouse and the storage room were demolished. In 1987, an extension was built on the site of the canopy in the courtyard wing. Jukka Koivula drew up the plans for the alterations.
