History

In 1756, Henrik Wilhelm is mentioned as the owner of the house. In 1800 the bourgeois son Abr. Wilhelmi. He had a small field, a meadow and a barn, as well as a share in the reef and barn.

Fire insurance

The Vähä-Maunu buildings on the northern part of the plot, the Maunu, were included in the fire insurance policy taken out in 1881. In the southern half of the plot there was a residential building in its present location and two outbuildings in the middle of the plot. On the northern boundary was a small board shed and in the middle of the plot a square log outbuilding. There was also a well on this part of the plot, which was used by the Maunu’s inhabitants.

Modification drafts

There is an alteration drawing of the buildings on the plot from 1888. The dwelling was a semi-detached house at the base, with an entrance hall and chamber in the middle, and a baking-oven room on one side and a hall on the other. There was also a pantry at each end. The chamber at one end of the house, which was at the end of Isomalminkatu, was part of the same dwelling as the other rooms, but the chamber at the other end was a separate dwelling. There was a boarded porch in front of both apartments. The planking of the building was classical. The vertical planking at the top of the roof ended in a scribble, and the main window in the attic was a diagonal one. The outbuilding, after the alteration, contained a sleeping room, a latrine and a dung house, as well as a shed, which became the old barn.

The windows were converted into T-shaped windows according to a plan drawn up by Arvi Forsman in 1906.

At the end of the building was a small grocery store, for which a street door was made in 1926. In 1949, display windows were opened on the south end of the building and on the long side of the building. In 1977, the windows and street door were removed. All windows were changed to six-paned and the thermal insulation of the exterior walls was increased. The building became a three-room apartment with a kitchen and a sauna in addition to the toilet. The outhouse was converted into a garage. A new gate was also built at the same time. In 1991, a second garage was needed for the outbuilding.
