History

The plot belonged to Maria Könt in 1756. In 1800, the owner was the poor patron Paavali Lindstén.

Modification drafts

The modification drawing by Arvi Leikari dates from 1904. There was a small residential building along the street, which before the alteration had had three small rooms and a porch. Now the building was extended on the courtyard side with a kitchen, a pantry and a hall. Two of the former rooms were combined. On the northern side of the plot was another residential building. It had an attic and two rooms. Now the baking room was moved and the former room was divided into two rooms. The old outbuilding was square, probably a shed. Now it was replaced by a building with a single log cattle shed, a board shed and a latrine. The dwelling house was altered with a three-part restrained Neo-Renaissance lining. A new gateway was also added to the roof, with a lattice trellis at the top.

In 1906, the exterior of the building was to be renewed. In 1911, a kitchen was to be added to the bakery building to provide a second dwelling. It is possible that this plan was never realised, as there is no trace of it in the next plan. It was now intended to make the bakehouse building a larger baking oven, so that it became a bakery. The main bakery became a shop. A porch was planned for the residential building, which apparently was not built. In 1935, a new entrance was made on the side of the building. Two rooms along the street would serve as dining rooms. In 1939, it was planned to demolish the baking oven in the courtyard building and divide the baking room into a kitchen and pantry.

In 1952 and 1953, the streetside building was thoroughly renovated. A typical detached house of the period was built, with the end facing the street. The walls are planked with narrow horizontal boarding, the windows are two-pane low standard windows. The roof has a display window for the coachman’s shop. The building also has an apartment, and the attic floor has been used as bedrooms. The sauna and boiler room and storage rooms are in the basement. The other old residential building on the site was demolished. The outbuilding is a small stone building at the rear of the plot. It is being prepared for extension at a later date.
