History

The land was owned in 1756 by Tuomas Kalli. In 1800 the plot belonged to the former fireman Joh. Ullström. He also had a small field. In the tax list the house was found to be worthless and the owner poor.

Modification drafts

In 1900, Arvi Leikari drew an alteration drawing, according to which the residential building on the cliff on the western boundary of the plot was extended from the courtyard with a baker’s wing. Another small extension was made to the side of the courtyard to provide additional space for a small kitchen. In addition to the bakehouse and kitchen, the building after the alteration had a large hall, three larger rooms and one very small chamber. There were two entrances. There had previously been three separate outbuildings. The two small log buildings were now joined together by boarding and a single large outbuilding was created on the northern boundary of the plot. At the same time, a small boarded-up section on the side of one of the old log buildings was demolished. The three-roomed log outbuilding on the eastern boundary of the site was given a new wing with a toilet and a shed. The appearance of the buildings was changed during the renovation. The dwelling was vertically boarded, with transomed windows with discreet Neo-Renaissance panelling. The outbuildings were also vertically boarded.

The 1908 design by Leonard Ahti for an ornate neo-renaissance gateway. The following year, a new small porch was added to the side of the courtyard.

In 1929, a kitchen was added to the east end of the wing of the residential building from a previously added room. In 1936, the main room of the building was converted into a stove room. A washroom was added under the same room at the north end, and a toilet was also added.

In 1970, changes were made. The spaces were combined to create three apartments. In the largest of them, a sauna was also built inside. All the apartments were fitted with small toilets. A washroom was added under the building, on a high plinth floor.

Changes were also made in 1980. A bakery was added to the outbuilding on the northern boundary of the property. A new outbuilding was also built on the site. In 1986, the residential building was renovated. The porches were replaced and the house was insulated. The second porch was converted into a toilet and the sauna was relocated inside the building. The second apartment was also fitted with washrooms and the kitchen was renovated. A warm storage room was built in the attic.
