The city of Rauma is home to two World Heritage Sites: Old Rauma and Sammallahdenmäki.
Old Rauma was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1991 as a unique example of a living and well-preserved old Nordic wooden town.
Sammallahdenmäki, added to the World Heritage List in 1999, is a Bronze Age burial site and the most extensive and diverse cemetery area of Scandinavian Bronze Culture on the Gulf of Bothnia’s coastal region.
