Environment
The environment is close to our hearts! We pay attention to the environmental impacts of Lace Week and strive to promote more sustainable event organizing practices.
EcoCompass- Environmental Certificate
In 2019, Lace Week was awarded the prestigious EcoCompass Environmental Certificate, recognizing the event’s environmental efforts. Using the EcoCompass system, we actively plan and implement eco-friendly practices and continuously strive to improve the event’s ecological footprint.
Energy consumption
The event will use green electricity. The use of green energy during Lace Week promotes sustainable development and environmental protection. Additionally, we monitor energy consumption and strive for energy efficiency. In the market area, the use of electric devices instead of gas is recommended.
Recycling
Trash in the bins! Every Lace Week visitor can do their part to keep the event area clean and comfortable by putting trash in the designated bins and collection containers. The roaming cleanup crew in the area helps guide visitors in proper waste sorting.
Transportation
We encourage visitors to arrive at the event venue by walking, cycling, or using the free Rauman Gyyt public transport throughout July.
The Lace Week staff plans the routes for transport during the event and monitors the mileage. We aim to walk or cycle short distances whenever possible.
Purchases
We make responsible and environmentally friendly purchases. We borrow, rent, and avoid buying new whenever possible. We pay attention to the quality and origin of the materials we acquire. We also encourage event organizers to join us in responsible procurement practices.
Sustainability as the flagship theme at the International Grand Markets
The International Grand Markets aims to be as responsible and carbon-conscious as possible. This year, the markets have developed a sustainability plan that vendors must adhere to.
