You can enjoy winter swimming at public saunas near the city center and in the village of Lappi. By the seaside, you’ll find Marine Cafe & Sauna in Petäjäs and Marina Vista at Syväraumanlahti. The Lappi Lakeside Sauna Puusaun is open nearly every day year-round and is located by the shore of Narvijärvi lake.

If you are looking for a place where the locals swim, you’ll find Kisaranta Sauna at Syväraumanlahti, owned by the City of Rauma, where Rauman Talviuimarit ry (Rauma’s Winter Swimmers Association) organizes public sauna sessions. Note that the sauna facilities do not have showers there, only sauna and swimming.
Rauma Swimming Hall
In addition to the fitness tracks, Rauma Swimming Pool has a diving pool, a large warm-water pool with a water slide, a children’s pool, two whirlpools and a café. Check out the opening hours, prices and more on the website.
The swimming hall is located at Hankkarintie 8. The swimming hall is closed during summer.
Rauma’s new swimming hall in Karin Kampus will open in the spring of 2025.
Summer
Public beaches in Rauma
Saharanta Beach
Saharanta beach is located next to the Syvärauma marina by the sea. The sandy beach has a gradually sloping beach with a good sandy bottom. The beach has toilets and a shelter for changing clothes.
There are no lifeguards at the beach.
Purjehtijankatu 26. The parking lot is right next to the beach.
Bergströmi Pond
Bergström Pond, or Pärskä, is located next to the Kourujärvi sports area. A sandy beach has been built on the shore. The pond is shallow and has a muddy-sand bottom. For children, there is a shallow swimming area separated by buoys. The beach has toilets, changing rooms, litter bins, playground equipment and a dock.
There are no lifeguards at the beach.
Monnankatu 32. Parking is available on both Monnankatu and Lännentie.
Otalahti beach
Otanlahti beach is located in the Fåfänga leisure area. Next to the beach you can find the Poroholma holiday centre, the Makis outdoor swimming pool and the summer theatre. The bay is shallow and sandy. The beach has changing rooms, toilets, showers and litter bins.
There are no lifeguards at the beach.
Suvitie 2. There are several parking spaces along Suvitie.
Lappi beach
Lappi Beach is located on the shores of Lake Narvijärvi in Lappi, Rauma. The beach is gently sloping and has a sandy bottom with vegetation in places. The beach has a dock, a diving platform, changing rooms, toilets, litter bins and playground equipment.
The beach also has a public beach sauna, Puusaun (puusaun.com), which is open all year round. There is a café next to the sauna. During the winter season, ice swimming is organised at the sauna.
There are no lifeguards at the beach.

Rauma Outdoor Swimming pool Makis
The Makis outdoor swimming pool in Rauma is open durin summer time and is located on the shore of Otanlahti (Suvitie). Lifeguards are on site daily according to opening hours.
The water in the pool is heated fresh water at 26 degrees. The changing rooms, showers and toilets in the service building are available to all beach users.
Makis also offers water aerobics, swimming lessons and mini-golf.
