Kuuskajaskari's cannon from the side, sea in the background

Kuuskajaskari Island offers visitors both marine experiences and the sheltered peace of a forested island.

On the former fortress island, the military atmosphere is still very much in evidence. The island has many interesting military attractions, including four decommissioned coastal guns, one of which is still operational. A guide can show you how the guns work and how they work. The island also has a sea control and fire control tower, trenches, firing stations and other essentials of the former fort.

The island offers café and restaurant services, as well as meeting and sauna facilities. Guided tours are also available. One of the largest islands in the Rauma archipelago is an excellent destination for groups.

During the summer, there is a daily shuttle service to Kuuskajaskari from Syväraumanlahti. The sea journey takes about 30 minutes each way. There is a guest harbour on the island with a total of 40 berths for those travelling with their own boat.
