At Rauma’s Christmas Market, you can indulge in treats, find festive treasures, and enjoy a variety of programs from November 23 to December 24. The Christmas Market is open on weekends until December 9, after which it is open daily until Christmas Eve. The Christmas Opening event on Saturday, November 23, brings Santa Claus, the Elf Train, music and dance performances, and the Lace Miss to the market square. Christmas lights will be switched on at 4 PM. Additionally, the Lace Town Christmas Coin Workshop will be open from 2 PM to 3 PM.
– The Christmas Market is set in the atmospheric UNESCO World Heritage Site, a unique setting in Finland. Be sure to recommend it to your friends and family, says Krista Mård, coordinator of Christmas in Lace Town.
A Square Full of Events and Experiences
The Christmas Market offers plenty of programs and activities for all ages. At the end of November, visitors can enjoy music performances, bingo, and a magician’s show.
In early December, the market is especially family-friendly, featuring pony rides, choir performances, a free carousel December 7–9, visits from the Moomins, children’s theater, and performances by young talents.
The traditional Night of the Elves will be celebrated on December 13, with the Christmas Market and some Old Rauma boutiques open until 9 PM. The stage program includes performances by the Alyssa dance group and the Karin Kakrut vocal group, with the Lace Miss joining the fun.
On Saturday, December 14, the Christmas Market welcomes Party Princess and music from Hovimuusikko Court Musician Ilkka. A fire show will light up the market on Monday, December 16.
Joulevangeeljum Fills the Streets of Old Rauma
From December 19–21, the streets of Old Rauma come alive with the Joulevangeeljum musical, featuring four enchanting scenes across the UNESCO World Heritage Site. This captivating experience is brimming with atmosphere and storytelling. The dress rehearsal can be seen on December 19 at 5 PM, with public performances on December 20 at 6 PM and December 21 at 4 PM and 7 PM. The musical is in Finnish.
Traditional Christmas Markets will take place in Old Rauma on December 22.
