Useful information
When traveling with a furry friend – whether it’s a cat, dog, or any other pet – it’s good to keep a few things in mind. Below, you can find information about veterinary services in the Rauma area and other useful information.
Dogs must be kept on a leash in urban areas at all times. By the law, from March 1 to August 19, dogs must also be leashed outside urban areas. You can let your dog off-leash in designated fenced areas meant for this purpose.
Dog waste should be collected from maintained areas in towns. There are several trash bins and dog waste bag dispensers in the city center. The locations of the bins and dispensers can be easily found on Rauma’s city map service (click the menu in the top left corner -> ”valitse kartalla näkyvät tiedot” -> ”kadut ja puistot” -> ”roskikset ja koirankakkapussitelineet” -> close the menu).
You can also visit Rauma’s market square with your pet during market hours. Please note that individual vendors have the right to request that pets be kept away from their stalls. Rauma’s market square is located in Old Rauma at Kauppakatu 13.
